Join us in celebrating International Pinotage Day

Simonsig is celebrating International Pinotage Day on Saturday 8 October with two tailor-made events honouring South Africa’s famous indigenous red grape variety.

From 10:00 am, the Simonsig lawns will come alive with music performed by Jack & Black, delicious food including burgers, boerewors and cheese platters as well as a selection of Pinotage wines and cocktails on offer. Visitors can look forward to tasting the awarded Redhill Pinotage, the Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé, a unique blend of Pinotage and Chenin Blanc as well as our signature sparkling Pinotage cocktail.

For those eager to learn more about the Pinotage grape variety, Simonsig Pinotage Maestro Debbie Thompson will be available between 12:00 and 14:00.

Entry to Pinotage Day at Simonsig is free.

On the evening of 8 October, Cuveé and Pinotage take centre stage with winemaker Debbie Thompson joining forces with Chef Carolize Coetzee in creating a four-course meal, each course paired with either Pinot Noir, Cinsaut or Pinotage wine. Both Debbie and Carolize will be on hand to talk about the wines and the food respectively, and this is set to be an informative as well as delicious evening.

Booking for this dinner is a must. The cost is R450 per person including wine. For bookings, contact Cuvée on 021 888 4932.
