CUVÉE GOES CABERNET AT SIMONSIG THIS WINTER

Simonsig’s signature restaurant, Cuvée, sizzles with an exclusive winter menu of comforting sensations created around the estate’s full-bodied Labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

From May until the end of July, Cuvée whisks winter blues goodbye with a melting pot of mouth-watering dishes made with or paired with this red wine named after the Vineyard Labyrinth unique to Simonsig – the world’s first productive vineyard planted in the shape of a labyrinth in 2003.

 

Steering clear of bite-size plated art, this delicious menu of sophisticated Cape Country cuisine inspired by the season, will be tweaked on a weekly basis to unveil new combinations of hearty tastes that complement the Simonsig Labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

Before settling down at the table for this sensory indulgence, visitors can invigorate their senses by taking a leisurely stroll through the nearby Vineyard Labyrinth.

 

Cold rainy days call for wild mushroom soup with crisp pancetta and sage butter or grilled springbok fillet with Cabernet caramelised shallots. Or think soft poached pears with almond praline and white chocolate to coax the appetite.   

 

 A knowledgeable sommelier assists diners in selecting the perfect wine to complement the food on Cuvée’s standard menu which now offers diners the choice of either a starter or full size portion for each of their dishes. With wine playing such a big part in the daily life of Simonsig Estate, Cuvée also offers their diners the opportunity to order wines directly from the comfort of their tables for collection after their lunch or dinner, or for delivery to their homes or their friends anywhere in the world.

 

Cuvée restaurant, which is now also open on Wednesday evenings to offer diners a mid-week dine-out indulgence in the heart of the Winelands, savours the spirit of friendship with authentic food, made with the freshest ingredients harvested from the herb and vegetable garden on the farm.

 

Presenting culinary brilliance with a conscience, Cuvée tries to stock its pantry with as much locally produced products to support surrounding communities whilst the homely yet stylish atmosphere, glowing with fireplaces and creature comforts, adds to the restaurant’s loyal following.                                                

 

The ‘Cuvée goes Cabernet’ winter indulgence will be available for lunch and dinner as a set three or two course menu ranging from R160 to R190 per head and includes a complimentary glass of Simonsig Labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

Cuvée is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 11h00 - 15h00, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11h00 - 15h00 and 19h00 - 22h00 and Sundays for lunch. Private evening functions and parties can also be reserved in Simonsig’s swanky Van Niekerk Room
